Online therapy throughout California

You are so worthy of feeling loved, respected, seen, and heard.

I thrive in my work with curious and compassionate people who want to learn more about themselves and how they can be present in their lives and relationships. My clients often come to therapy when they experience stress, anxiety, burnout, or are struggling to authentically show up in their relationships with others or themselves. My hope is that therapy becomes a safe and collaborative space where you feel seen, heard, and safe to be your favorite version of yourself.

There’s hope for healing and setting down these heavy burdens.

I particularly enjoy working with people who are neurodivergent, healing from complex trauma, clients who are navigating work or life transitions, and folks exploring or navigating gender, sexuality, or diverse relationship structures. Our work together will be guided by curiosity as you determine what healing might look like for you. I work from a trauma-informed, Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed approach, and collaborate with my clients on exploring goals and intentions for their therapy journey. A session might look like: discussing and navigating trauma, taking a look at boundaries, assessing your relationship with yourself and self-esteem, or cultivating space for self-care and self-compassion. My clients are the experts in themselves, and my intention is to affirm authenticity, while also compassionately questioning stories that may not be as kind or truthful as they have been believed to be.

Meet Erin

My name is Erin (they/she), and I'm a neurodivergent and queer therapist in California. I completed my Bachelors in Psychology at CSU, Fresno, and my Masters in Social Work at CSU, Sacramento. I was so privileged to witness what advocacy could look like on a community scale. My training was primarily in grief, bereavement, and end-of-life care, and later, individual-therapy in community mental health.

It was clear to me early on in my training that I had a passion for working with trauma. I started my practice as a licensed therapist right as the pandemic settled in, where trauma, grief, and the unknown very much became widespread experiences. I continued to learn more and work to specialize in neurodivergence and GSRD (Gender, Sexuality, and Relationship Diversity) clients, and began to learn more about complex trauma, attachment trauma, and neurodivergent trauma.

I began to specialize in trauma as I continued to seek connection with other professionals and engage in trainings about neurodivergence, attachment, ethical non-monogamy, Internal Family Systems/Parts Work, psychedelics, Geek Therapy, and gender and sexuality. I enjoy learning, and I continue to seek knowledge to grow in my own practice.

My Therapeutic Philosophy

You may have noticed my logo: a bowl that has broken and been repaired with gold. This is directly due to my appreciation of the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where, if pottery or ceramics are broken or in need of repair, gold or other precious metals are used to repair the piece, instead of purposely disguising the repairs with more covert methods. This style of art is purposefully meant to highlight the breakage of the piece, and honor its history.

Kintsugi celebrates the defining characteristics of the piece as a whole, just as we as humans deserve to celebrate and revel in our authenticity. While we may have learned to see parts of ourselves as “broken”, kintsugi invites us to expand our perspective and see all parts of ourselves. We are not only the experiences that we have had, but we are instead resilient, authentic, and uniquely “us” through our experiences and the meaning that we give them.

In therapy, clients are able to explore their experiences, reinterpret events, and reconstruct their narratives in order to create their own more empowering story that acknowledges their strength and resilience. Through this process, we embark on a journey of healing and transformation in order to reach growth, self-acceptance, and overall well-being. Clients are able to learn how to accept and understand their parts, while learning to navigate life’s challenges with greater understanding and more self-compassion.
